Take a minute to think about what Jefferson’s quote means to us today, or in any generation. Quite simply it means that if you are concerned about your democratic and individual rights, you should be paying attention. You should have at least a vague idea how the government works and what it’s doing, from day to day, because it affects your life on many levels. Remember that men have fought and died defending our constitutional democratic republic. Stay vigilant and informed, at least for their sake if not your own.
The Purpose of This Site:
Although several leading scholars contend that most people’s opinion about politics and public policy is formed primarily by emotion, I still believe people are capable of making rational choices when they are fully armed with facts. In the “so called” post-truth society in which we now live, mine is a minority opinion. However, I persevere.
